Location

This historical hotel was originally the Fortaleza da Barra fortress built by the Portuguese to defend Macau against pirates and invaders in the 17th century. A century later a chapel was dedicated to St. James at the same site. The Pousada De Sao Tiago Hotel is situated in a posh residential area near the A-Ma Temple, Maritime Museum and Gate of Understanding.
